Outfit Guide

Tip #1- Wear what you want to wear

If you really want to wear something that you feel great and confident in or that represents you, be your unique self, above all else.

Tip #2- It's not about matching, it's about coordinating

Instead of wearing the exact same colours, decide on a colour palette and tone. Use the colour wheel if you'd like.

Tip #3- Dress appropriately and bring a few layers

We all know the forecast isn't always accurate, so try to be prepared when things don't go according to plan! Think about the location, your shoes, if you'll have a scarf or coat, or hat along. Perhaps even bring a cute blanket!

Tip #4- Try mixing textures instead of patterns

A multitude of patterns can get really busy in photos. Consider mixing textures, like wool, lace, etc. Solid colours are great, and draw the eyes to the more important parts of the image- like your faces!

Tip #5- Think about the mood and dress accordingly

Think about what mood you want your photos to portray. Soft, classy and elegant or bold, fun, and adventurous.

Tip #6- Try to avoid "trendy" pieces

You'll want to keep your photos forever, so try to avoid wearing something that's super trendy that you might cringe at a few years down the road.

However, I happen to know a few individuals who are always trendy and can justify spending $100s on a hoodie because of the brand, or $400 on a pair of shoes. If you're someone like this, then be you, wear and rock your trendy clothes because that's who you are.

Try to avoid wearing wrist/large jewellery such as large watches, bracelets, etc. This is more distracting than you might realize, and takes away from the focus of the photos~ especially for those ring and hand pictures.

You can never go wrong with neutrals

But for those that are a little more bold, choose more deeply saturated colours. (please avoid neon as they cast unflattering reflections on your skin). If you're wanting classic and elegant- try blacks, whites, burgundy's and navy's.

Flowy skirts and dresses are always a great idea for ladies. This gives you the option to twirl, dance, and if there's wind, can make for really dreamy photos.

Tip #7- Think about bringing an extra outfit

Maybe you get to the photo session and whether it's the weather, or the location, or you just aren't feeling what you're wearing... for situations like this, consider bringing a second (or third) outfit.

Going to multiple locations is a great reason to bring along another outfit as well!
