A wedding at Swaneset Bay Resort & Country Club is the perfect venue for you if saying your “I Do’s” at a castle-esque resort in the mountains sounds like a fairy tale come true.
When E&B told me their wedding would be at Swaneset Bay Resort & Country Club- I began googling, instagram hashtag stalking, and visited it myself (it’s free to go check it out!) It’s a hidden gem in the Fraser Valley. The property is massive, but there’s definitely some tips (I’ll include some below) to know before you have your Wedding there.
There’s a few different spots to have your ceremony; the ballroom (a great backup for rain!), the terrace overlooking the mountain view (first picture), and the lawn patio beneath a tree (this is where E&B got married!)
The Ballroom (great for receptions) is massive and can seat hundreds of guests. There are many beautiful windows so we had great lighting up until dusk.
It was bright and hot even though E&B’s Wedding day was mid May. Thankfully there’s shade beneath the tree on the lawn patio for the bridal party to stay cool. Fans for all your guests are a thoughtful touch during the ceremony if you’re choosing the lawn patio! (Useful wedding favours anyone? Check out my favourite from etsy in the link below!)

The resort has beautiful getting ready areas for both bride & groom, multiple ceremony locations to choose from (including a backup for rain), amazing catering, and a beautiful place for your reception and dance floor. It’s minutes from my favourite spot for mountain/lake backdrops where we went for E&B’s first look before the ceremony.
Make sure to check for flooding the week of your wedding if you plan on going there for photos. Even with flooding there should be enough trail to use so long as your bridal party isn’t gigantic. Thankfully, Swaneset’s buildings are air conditioned so when we got back we had time for a few more photos and a water break before the ceremony in the getting ready rooms.
The very first thing I do when I arrive to weddings is look for a good spot to hang the dress. While it seems like there would be many ideal spots to hang the dress here- I found it tricky.
The girls suite has lots of mirrors and a little platform (pictured below). Try to keep all everyone’s belongings around the corner since there are many mirrors in there.
The guys suite is quite large. There are plenty of windows which gave us some great natural light to work with.
We didn’t have time to take photos in all the every spot at Swaneset, but below are just a few I loved! What more convincing do you need?
