+ Tips & Inspiration For Creative Engagement Sessions
Please note: these images reflect a very similar, but slightly different, older editing style.
For most people, engagement photos are the timeless visual legacy of your relationship.
Take this opportunity to do something exciting together that shows off your relationship. Consider incorporate something you love as well as an activity you both enjoy by turning it into a creative engagement session.
The reason WHY doing an activity together is such a great idea is (we not only get to create timeless photos together), but it’s fun and unique and makes your session feel natural. More natural = you feel less awkward and more at home in front of the camera, so we can capture your true selves!
However, you’ll both look back on it and remember how much fun you had, plus the love and hobbies you share together.
Maybe you feel like the two of you don’t do anything particularly unique together- but I promise you if you and your photographer get creative, you can get amazing results!
Do you guys love baking? Have a flour fight with whisks and spatulas in the kitchen.
Jump off the pier (or a speedboat 😉) into a lake amongst the mountains.
Enjoy hikes or camping? Go somewhere spectacular and roast s’mores over a campfire with mugs cuddled up in warm flannel blankets.
Are you bookworms or gamers? Head to your local library and get cozy amongst the bookshelves with each other and your favourite classics. Consider cuddling up with your controllers on the couch with pizza takeout on the coffee table.
It might be as simple as charcuterie style picnic with sparkling grape juice on a pier. A walk in the city park feeding breadcrumbs to the pigeons is a simple activity as well.
Like coffee? Get to your favourite hole in the wall coffee shop and sip coffees together then head out for a stroll on the city streets.
Are you more classic? Head to a flower field or the fairgrounds and get cotton candy while playing some fair games and going on the carousel.
